How to View the TCP/IP Settings on the Client Device

Objectives

This document teaches how to view the client device network settings.

The method taught is based on the following steps:

  1. Access the network settings on the client device
  2. View static network settings
  3. View dynamic network settings

Applicable Product Version

Chip PC thin client device with firmware Version 6.5.3.


Procedure

Access the network settings on the client device

  1. Open the WBT Configuration screen:
    From the Task Bar on the client device select: Start \ Settings \ Device
    Select the Network tab to access the network settings.

View static network settings

  1. Static network settings will appear in the Network tab screen below the radio button Use the Following IP address.

    Note: If the network settings were set via DHCP, the static settings, as well as the DNS/WINS button mentioned below, will be grayed out.

  2. Click the DNS/WINS button to view the settings for the DNS and WINS servers.
  3. Click OK to return to the Network tab screen.
  4. Click OK to return to exit the WBT Configuration screen.

View dynamic network settings

  1. Click the Network Info… button to open the Network Info Obtained from DHCP screen and display all the network settings.
    If the network settings were set manually, the Network Info… button will be grayed out.


  2. Click OK to return to the Network tab screen.
  3. Click OK to return to exit the WBT Configuration screen.
