Objectives

This document explains how to configure the RDP / ICA connections to run on startup on image 6.5.x, both locally and through Xcalibur Global.

Procedures

In order to create connections that will be automatically lunched once the boot process is over, an "autostart" shortcut must be placed on the desktop.

The connections can be configured both locally and through the Xcalibur Global management software.

Local configuration:

After creating a connection in My Connections Manager right click it (ICA or RDP) and select the option "Desktop (autostart shortcut)" from the Send To menu, as shown below.

RDP connection through Xcalibur Global:

When creating a new RDP connection press the "Advanced" button and go to the "Options" tab, select the option "Create autostart connection shortcut on desktop" as shown below.

This feature can also be accessed in an existing connection by right clicking it and selecting "Properties".

ICA connection through Xcalibur Global:

When creating a new ICA connection press the "Advanced" button and go to the "Application" tab, select the option "Create autostart connection shortcut on desktop" as shown below.

This feature can also be accessed in an existing connection by right clicking it and selecting "Properties".
