OVERVIEW

This document explains how to resolve Citrix Web Interface problems when working with image 6.5.x and using the local Internet Explorer browser.

TROUBLESHOOT

How the Web Interface works?

Please read the following article to better understand how the Citrix Web Interface works.

Possible problem:

Under some circumstances a user may log on to the Citrix Web Interface, receive the list of available applications, but he won't be able to open them. A massage is displayed for a moment (see image below) and noting else happens.

As the massage shows, an attempt is made to download a file (to understand what the file is read how the Citrix Web Interface works). This attempt fails because the local browser is set by default to block incoming files for security reasons.

To fix this problem:

  1. In image 6.5.x - go to: Start -> Settings -> Device -> Plugins tab
Select the Internet Explorer Connection plug-in from the Available Plug-ins list
  2. Click the configure button
  3. Under the Internet Explorer Connection Plug-in dialog select the Advanced tab
  4. Configure this tab as shown in the image below
  5. Confirm all open dialogs and restart the device when asked

Secure environment (SSL) problems:

Some users encounter problems when trying to use Citrix Web Interface in a secure environment (SSL).

When working in a secure environment (SSL) two basic conditions must be met:

The client MUST have a valid Root Certificate
(Issued by the same CA server that issued the Citrix server's Root Certificate)

The client and server date and time MUST be synchronized

These are basic SSL prerequisites. Please contact your system administrator for more information.
