Objectives:

This document describes the procedure for upgrading Chip PC Device Firmware, for environments without Xcalibur Global Management software.

All steps described in this document will be done directly on the Thin Client device in order to upgrade the device to a newer firmware version or update the plugins to newly released versions.

Important:

Upgrade from Image 6.0 to 6.5.x is IRREVERSIBLE - Downgrade is not available!

General Steps for upgrading

1. Download the required image (OS)
2. Download the required plugins (Software Add-ons)
3. Download The Chip PC Installer utility
4. Extract the downloaded Image and Plugins to an FTP Server or other location using Chip PC Installer Utility
5. Reset the device to Factory Defaults (remove currently installed plugins).
6. Upgrade the image
7. Install the Plugins
