Mouse Cursor Disappears While connecting with EX-PC Device to VMware View through PCoIP

Objectives

This article explains How to perform workaround for mouse cursor disappearance while connecting to VMware View through PCoIP with EX-PC device, when:

1. The mouse pointer scheme is set to one of the following: None, Magnified, Windows Aero, and Windows Standard, and

2. The EX-PC device is installed with a VMware View client (4.0.1 and above) and connected to a remote VM machine via PCoIP.

 

Applicable Software Versions

This document is applicable to the following software version:

 Chip PC XPD 2.012.08 and below

Description:

When the EX-PC is installed with a VMware View client (4.0.1 and above) and connected to a remote VM machine via PCoIP, the mouse cursors are disappearing in when the mouse pointer scheme is set to any of the following: None, Magnified, Windows Aero, and Windows Standard.

The mouse pointer also disappears when composing an Outlook email using the following mouse pointer schemes: Windows Black or Windows Inverted.

Solution:

1. The symptom described above will be fixed on Chip PC EX-PC next image version.

2. Currently there is a workaround to solve the problem which is to disable the client host cursor.

Steps:

1. Please follow the instructions of VMware View Knowledgebase to create a Config.ini file: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1754

2. Add the following option to config.ini: mks.noHostCursor=true
