What safety standards Jack-PC complies with?
The Jack-PC is certified as any other standard thin-client (UL, CE etc.) with additional safety certification required for Power Over Ethernet device per IEEE 802.3af.

How fast a Flex-Jack port should be? 10 / 100 / 1G LAN?
For Jack-PC, 100Base-T will be good enough. For other applications Giga LAN can be used. 10Base-T is not recommended for Jack-PC use although it may be perfectly usable in small networks and less demanding applications.

Can Jack-PC operate on Giga LAN?
Yes but it will negotiate 100Base-T full duplex mode. LAN interface is 100Mbps maximum. Though as a thin-client, the Jack PC will never exceed 10 Mbps of bandwidth.

How much heat is dissipated by the Jack-PC in a Flex-Jack?
The Flex-Jack can easily dissipate 5-8W of power. Jack-PC typically dissipates less than 5W during full operation.

Can I install the Flex-Jack in panels and furniture?
Yes. Flex-Jack can be installed in any location and form if space permitting. To avoid product damage you should read the installation and safety instructions first!

Do I need special tools to install / wire Flex-Jacks?
You will need only a screwdriver to install the Flex-Jack using Chip PC's RJ-45 termination kit. To install a new installation you will need a standard IDC tool to secure the wires and cutter to cut the insulation.

Can I damage the Jack-PC if I wire the jack incorrectly?
No but it would not work (you may have a LINK but no POE or POE but no LINK).

Can I damage the Jack-PC by inserting it into the Flex-Jack rotated or upside-down?
No. The Jack-PC and all other inserts are built asymmetrically ?€“ you can only insert it in one orientation.

Can I install the Flex-Jack in a floor mounted box?
Yes, the Flex-Jack was designed to allow floor mounting inside sunken box. Keep the product protected from water and pressure damages.

Is it possible to install the devices without their decorative frames?
Yes. You can also purchase a special Flex-Jack housing with minimal surrounding frame.
