Can Jack-PC management traffic be encrypted?
Yes. Traffic is encrypted through proprietary high-security protocol (not SNMP). Additional encryption can be added using SSL or other standard / non-standard encryption methods.

Do I need to open SNMP ports for Jack-PC management?
No. Chip PC uses for Xcalibur Global much more secured and efficient protocol. This protocol uses proprietary modern technologies to achieve: a. Much better bandwidth utilization through compression b. Flexible configurable ports settings c. Variable encryption level with SSL and other methods

Can I disable JAVA, Active-X, Cookies, downloads on the Jack-PC?
By default Java, Active-X and cookies are not supported. Administrator may enable these functions but Chip PC highly recommends not doing it due to the security risks involved.

Can Jack-PC open a VPN connection to a firewall / gateway?
Yes. Several VPNs are available at Chip PC web-site to download as XPIs.

What is Strong Device Authentication? How it is supported by the Jack-PC?
Strong Device Authentication is a patented technology developed by Chip PC to assure the identity of the device in a managed environment beyond doubt. This assurance is based on unique silicon signatures of components soldered to the Jack-PC board.

Can Jack-PC have local log-on screen just like PC?
